Jolene Hoover was nominated by two ladies whose mothers were entrusted to her care. The first patient was a 92-year-old lady and her daughter is forever grateful for Jolene compassionate care. She wrote, “Jolene was a God send. She went above and beyond her job as a nurse. She came in every night with a cheerful personality. I felt very comfortable leaving at night when she was on the job. She treated my mother as if she was hers. She answered all my questions and concerns and never made me feel like I was a pain. She always took time in her shift to ask us if we needed anything and even came in to check on us. She has a great positive attitude and a very personal touch. I feel she is a genuine loving care nurse.”

The next nomination from a daughter read, “Jolene was the most exceptional nurse. She served with such efficiency, detail, and compassion as I observed her taking care of my mom. She calmed my mom and reassured her that all questions and concerns would be addressed. She exemplifies strength. She prayed for me as I cried. Thank you, Jolene. You are a DAISY among the most beautiful ones.”

I had an opportunity to speak with this daughter before her mother was discharged. The impact that Jolene’s compassion and caring nature had on this patient and her family made a difference in their time of need. They were so appreciative and blessed to have had her take care of them during this stay.
