My husband came into the ER with what we thought was a simple fever, and before we knew it, he was rushed to the ICU in the middle of the night, diagnosed with a Multifactorial Septic infection. Immediately, the team of doctors and nurses sprang into action. We could not have asked for better care or more intensive treatment. But, through those first scariest of days, Rayana was the nurse who never left. She became our calm, the one who kept focused on the positive changes that were slowly occurring, the face I looked to for hope! Rayana never faltered, never wavered in her positivity. She went above and beyond to make sure I was comfortable, and my husband was attended to continuously. She worked tirelessly to ensure he was improving. Every single improvement, she was there. Those first couple of days were terrifying to say the least, but Rayana stood out as a nurse who went above and beyond to help us. Over the course of 9 days in the ICU, my husband did improve and has made a full recovery. The care he received at SVMC was amazing, and we are forever grateful.
