She helped me push through, exhausted all my options, and helped me to feel like I gave my best to deliver my baby.
Chloe was amazing during my labor induction journey. I was originally scheduled to be induced on Tuesday, but I was delayed until Friday. I truly believe this was meant to be so that Chloe would be caring for me on Saturday.
After a long day of induction on Friday, where the Pitocin and cook balloons only got me to one centimeter dilated, Chloe helped me understand what that meant. I expressed to her my wish to do the TOLAC, but I was feeling defeated and that my body wasn’t doing what I was hoping it would do. She was very supportive during that time.
The doctor came in shortly after and explained that I could redo the entire induction process. I started to get that defeated feeling again and wondered if it would be worth it. Chloe kept a clear head as I worked through my emotions. She reminded me of my strong desire to give my body a chance to do the TOLAC. I then decided to go through the second round of induction. Chloe was with me throughout the day and put together a little bootcamp so I could get more movement this time around.
Chloe was so sweet and supportive throughout the whole day. I kept my positive attitude and was very hopeful that this time it would work. I was also able to mentally and emotionally prepare myself for it if it didn’t work. Unfortunately, it did not work out, and I had to get a C-section. We found out that I had a uterine window and the cord was wrapped around my baby’s neck, so a C-section was the best route anyway.
I am so grateful to Chloe, my nurse! She helped me push through, exhausted all my options, and helped me to feel like I gave my best to deliver my baby. Chloe returned on Monday and was able to meet my baby girl! I will always remember her for everything she did for me and my family.
