Marissa is always an exceptional nurse, but during a recent emergency, she demonstrated extraordinary skill, compassion, and dedication that went above and beyond. During a critical moment in our LDRP unit, Marissa remained a steady and reassuring presence. When a patient suddenly experienced a life-threatening complication, she immediately jumped in with calm precision, ensuring the safety of both mother and baby. She swiftly helped the medical team, anticipating every need and acting decisively under intense pressure. 

Beyond her clinical expertise, it was her unwavering compassion that truly stood out. Marissa held the patient’s hand, spoke words of comfort, advocated for her, prayed with her and reassured the patient. Even amidst the chaos, she made sure everyone felt cared for, demonstrating the true essence of nursing.

This moment was just one example of what Marissa does every day. She consistently provides exceptional care, supports her team, and exemplifies the highest standards of nursing. Her ability to balance skill, leadership, and empathy makes her truly deserving of the DAISY Award.
