As we were doing our clinical rotation on 3 East, Austin was incredibly helpful, patient, and the care he provided his patients was absolutely exceptional. In one instance, he tried every avenue to advocate for his patient before inserting a Foley. He is very humble and down-to-earth in every interaction he has with patients, co-workers, and students. His motto is “there is never a bad time to be polite,” and we believe Austin lives up to that standard. Our experience with Austin has been top-notch.

Austin is extremely deserving of this award. From the moment we met, I did not feel like a patient; he made me feel like I was at home. I was scared, confused, and did not understand what was going on. He took the time to sit and explain every little detail. He was reassuring. I have the beginning of dementia. I know I asked the same questions multiple times, and he showed me compassion, professionalism, and genuine kindness that went far beyond my expectations. He not only provided excellent care, but he also made sure I felt heard, respected, and safe throughout my experience. Austin is one of a kind. He is an exceptional RN and is a huge asset to your hospital.
