Maryana had been my night nurse for several days. She always responded to my needs. She shared great compassion, she managed my pain through the night, returning back as my meds ran out to be sure I didn’t go without. She had kind words to share every night. She answered all my questions and graciously answered all my husband’s questions as he asked a lot every day.

She showed me great respect and helped me with anything I needed. I never felt rushed or that she was too busy. She presented with great knowledge in her field. She offered strength and hope when I was struggling on some of those first nights here. It’s been 10 days now, and I do not have a release date yet.

A kind smile and warm words help the long, lonely nights pass. I feel all nurses have a special gift; some just get an extra dose from God himself.
