Elizabeth is a true leader who inspires confidence, drives quality, and ensures that every patient receives the highest level of care.
Elizabeth exemplifies the qualities of an outstanding nurse leader through her unwavering commitment to collaboration, compliance, and patient outcomes. Each shift she works, Elizabeth makes a significant impact on the nursing team's ability to provide safe, compassionate, and evidence-based care at the bedside.
Elizabeth is highly collaborative with nursing staff across all units. She consistently sends timely reminders to nurses caring for stroke, trauma, and rib fracture patients, ensuring key components of documentation and treatment are completed accurately. Her proactive approach has led to measurable improvements, including increased documentation of incentive spirometry for rib fracture patients, an evidence-based practice that directly improves patient outcomes. Baseline data for these patients were 0%, 2024 increased to 68%, Q1 of 2025 was 67%, 88% in April of 2025, and July and August were 100%! Her leadership has been pivotal in achieving exceptional results during regulatory surveys.
Under Elizabeth's guidance, our stroke program successfully completed the 2025 DNV Stroke Survey with zero deficiencies. The surveyor's comments included: "The stroke care here is impeccable," and "Never seen anything like this."
Additionally, Elizabeth played a critical role in addressing the one nonconformity and observation from the previous year, ensuring full compliance and continuous improvement. Elizabeth goes above and beyond her expected duties by providing one-on-one coaching and personalized reminders to staff. Her dedication to compliance and education fosters a culture of excellence and safety, ultimately leading to the best possible patient outcomes. Her contributions reflect not only her expertise but also her passion for supporting nurses and elevating care standards.
