I was incredibly frustrated with the situation, and I unfortunately took some frustration out on him, which I regret. He remained calm, understanding, and patient with me. He never treated me as if I were an annoyance, but treated me as if I were a scared human, which is exactly what I was.
A few weeks before the incident that led me to the Emergency Department, my family member also had two visits. During these two visits, there was one exceptional nurse who went above and beyond to make sure I was heard. He went as far as to call me back the next day with further information. He was kind, helpful, understanding, and incredible. His name is Jeffrey Bailey.

Out of everyone who worked during those shifts, I found him to be exceptionally helpful. At the time, I was incredibly frustrated with the situation, and I unfortunately took some frustration out on him, which I regret. He remained calm, understanding, and patient with me. He never treated me as if I were an annoyance, but treated me as if I were a scared human, which is exactly what I was.

Now onto my incident. I was taken to the emergency room after an accident. Jeffrey Bailey was efficient, kind, informed, and gracious. He made me feel like I was truly cared for. He is the best nurse I’ve ever interacted with. I have a poor history with hospitals in general, and he completely shifted my experience with them. I have utmost respect for him, and I gently, but firmly, request that he be recognized for his exceptional service, care, and knowledge.

Once I recognized that he was the nurse who had previously helped my family member, I knew I had to ensure he was formally recognized for his efforts. I have utmost respect for him, and I believe he is an incredible, irreplaceable presence at Baptist Hospital. He genuinely changed the way I view healthcare and how I feel about hospitals.

Growing up, I only ever went to hospitals to visit a loved one who was dying of cancer. Since then, I have had a massive fear of all things hospital-related (including nurses, doctors, EMTs, etc.). This experience completely changed that for me, and I will be eternally grateful. I can’t express how outstanding he was.
