It is my pleasure to nominate Katie McIntyre for the DAISY Award.  Her unwavering commitment to patient care, deep clinical expertise, and compassionate approach make her a standout professional in wound management. She not only demonstrates exceptional knowledge in wound care management but also oversees chart review, data collection, quality presentations, nurse education, and communication with Nursing Leadership.

Katie has educated countless nurses and is often asked to meet with our Nursing Students during their clinical experience. She embraces these opportunities to educate with a positive attitude and truly loves to teach in any setting. Feedback from her sessions with the clinical groups is consistently very positive as she shares her excitement for wound care with these students. She makes herself available to new hires during orientation to provide focused education and includes them in learning opportunities throughout the hospital. Katie leads the Skin Committee and works closely with Skin Champions in the unit to communicate evidence-based practice and trial new products. Katie not only treats wounds but also provides patient care with the utmost dignity and respect.
