After 48 hours at another hospital without a treatment plan, we came to Saint Luke’s because of our previous positive experiences. Within two hours of arriving at Saint Luke’s, we were given more answers than in our previous two days. By the next morning, we had a diagnosis.
I want to applaud Mackenzie. She immediately recognized and acknowledged my mom’s pain and knew that if she was still super uncomfortable with the meds, something was seriously wrong. She was the first to ask how her temperature was being treated, and then she also explained her labs. Mackenzie gave us our first hope for treatment.
As I was leaving, I ran into Mackenzie, who stated, “Oh, no, you still haven’t gotten a room”. Mackenzie then later followed up with my sister to let her know that a room was reserved for my mom and that she would be moving that evening. She did all of this with grace and kindness. She is a bright young nurse and clearly has chosen the right profession. That night, we left our mom in trusted hands.
Thank you for creating such a culture of care.
