Shawna earned a nomination from a patient who commended her strong clinical skills, compassion and excellent communication, calling her “an exemplary nurse.” The patient, who is from out of state, was appreciative of how Shawna “went above and beyond” to help ensure that he had what he needed at home upon discharge. “Shawna was so caring and attentive to my needs and concerns,” he wrote, adding, “She always communicated with my wife and myself when explaining to us what to expect with my daily nursing care and medications.”
