I came in at 37 weeks because of prolonged Afib. Heidi wasn't supposed to be on the floor that night, but was in the building for a meeting. Both the cardiac team and the delivery providers appeared nervous and apprehensive due to my current condition.

Heidi was neither, and was such an amazing advocate and caring provider. Her calming yet confident nature made me feel everything was going to be ok, even when scary things were being discussed like DNRs and arterial lines.

In the midst of it all, there she was helping me and my four machines to the bathroom, giving hugs, and posing in a photo for me to remember later on. Heidi did this all without missing a beat, and I could tell that her co-workers trusted her, so I couldn't help but do the same.

After she worked her magic, she disappeared into the night like a superhero, with a quiet goodbye and a wink. My baby girl is doing so well, and I left with a happy heart. I will be forever grateful to Heidi.
