Brittney Morgan demonstrated exceptional compassion and care that she provided to my dad during his hospital stay. This was my dad's first time ever being admitted to the hospital, and to say he was nervous would be an understatement. What started as a routine appendectomy turned into something much more serious when the doctors discovered a mass, which required two major surgeries, including a colon resection.

It was a physically and emotionally overwhelming experience for him and the entire family, but Brittney made all the difference. From the very beginning, Brittney took the time to joke with my dad, to lift his spirits, and to ease his worries. She gave back as good as she got! Her warmth, sense of humor, and genuine kindness helped my dad feel more at ease and more like himself again, even in the most difficult of moments, which was heartwarming for the family to see.

One moment that especially stood out for my dad was on the day of his discharge. Brittney had a class to attend at the hospital that day, but she made a special trip to his room just to check in, say goodbye, and share one more laugh with my dad. That simple act of kindness meant the world to him and to our family. Brittney brought light to a dark time for our family. Her compassion, dedication, and humanity make her an extraordinary nurse, and we are truly grateful for the care that she gave.

She embodies everything that the DAISY award represents, and we are so thankful that my dad had her to look after him and care for him during his hospital stay.
