Summer was a breath of fresh air during a really difficult time in my recovery. From the moment she stepped into the room, her energy was bright, playful, and incredibly uplifting, not just for me, but also for my friends who were by my side. She brought laughter into the room without ever taking away from the seriousness of what I was going through, and that balance meant everything. She helped me with early physical therapy and encouraged me to get out of bed, which was no small task with a fractured back. But she made it feel doable even fun.

One of my favorite memories was when she decided, toward the end of her shift, to take me outside by the koi fishpond to get some fresh air and sunshine. It might seem like a small gesture, but it was a huge moment for my spirit. Even though her shift was nearly over, Summer still took the time to pull up my MRI report so my friends and I could take a better look at what was going on with my back. Her energy was contagious, and her sincere dedication to her work came through in every interaction. She made me feel seen, cared for, and hopeful, and that made a real difference in how I healed. We need more nurses like Summer, those who bring joy, skill, and heart into every room they walk into.
