As a nurse myself, I have worked with many incredibly knowledgeable and caring coworkers. Marcus went above and beyond in a way that left a lasting impact on my grandfather and our whole family. His positive outlook and attitude, coupled with the amount of education he provided my family and me during a scary and uncertain time, are unmatched.

My grandpa was brought into the hospital after suffering a ruptured aneurysm, and the care that Marcus provided during those critical hours following his surgery and in the days that followed was extraordinary. Marcus remained calm while managing the complex care my grandpa needed to receive, while also providing reassurance to my family and me.

Even when he wasn't the primary nurse, he stopped in to check on my grandpa. This brought us peace during a time of fear. My family believes that Marcus embodies everything the DAISY Award stands for, and we are honored to nominate him for this. We hope he knows how much he is appreciated for all that he did to help save a life. Our family will never forget him.
