Not only did Nurse Carrie go above and beyond nursing duties, but she also connected with you. Nurse Carrie demonstrates compassion, competency, and commitment to all of her patients, colleagues, and families
1st Nomination
I encountered Nurse Carrie twice due to the fact that my sister came through the ER on two occasions and was admitted to the hospital. Upon initially meeting Nurse Carrie, it is quite evident that she is a go-getter, has an infectious personality, and is a people person. She explained the symptoms and possible diagnosis that my sister was experiencing in everyday language that we could comprehend.
On several occasions, she asked if there was anything she could do to assist us. It is quite obvious that Nurse Carrie is dedicated and devoted to her patients and their family members. My sister felt from the very beginning that she was in good hands and could ask as many questions as she needed. My sister's apprehension and anxiety were lessened and soothed by Nurse Carrie's reassurance and positive energy.

2nd Nomination
Carrie Lacks, RN, was the nurse caring for my child during our ER visit. He has sensory processing disorder and can become nervous and fearful in certain environments. Carrie was compassionate and patient with him, singing silly songs to comfort him when he was upset, and gave me peace of mind as a worried mother. She stayed in the room with us and gave us different strategies for sensory difficulties, based on her own personal understandings. She is a blessing to this facility and made a huge impact on our visit.
