Whether it's managing a complex patient with skillful precision or comforting a grieving family member, she shows up with a calm presence and kind heart.
It is with genuine admiration and gratitude that our team nominates this RN for the DAISY Award. In a unit where intensity and urgency are part of our daily routine, and proficiency means the difference between life and death, she consistently brings a level of professionalism, leadership, and compassion that elevates everyone around them. Whether it's managing a complex patient with skillful precision or comforting a grieving family member, she shows up with a calm presence and kind heart. Her clinical skills and ability to stay calm and collected in the most chaotic of situations are nothing short of extraordinary and are palpable to anyone she has worked with. Beyond the bedside, she is the kind of teammate we all hope for. She mentors new nurses, offers to help others even when their own workload is complete, and advocates fiercely for both patients and colleagues. When morale is low, she motivates everyone by leading by example and maintaining a standard we should all strive to achieve.
One example that stands out occurred when we had multiple alerts in a row. The unit was short-staffed and overwhelmed, and emotions were running high. She took the initiative to establish IV access and stabilize a crashing patient, comfort a distressed family, and still found time to support a newer nurse experiencing her first major case. That day encapsulated everything she stands for – clinical excellence, empathy, and teamwork. This floor can be a tough place. But nurses like her remind us why we do this work. They embody the spirit of nursing and reflect the core values of this award in everything they do. On behalf of the entire team, we enthusiastically nominate her for the DAISY Award. She's not just a great nurse – she is the light in the dark, guiding people through their worst moments.
