Baptist Health System AED had an incident where a discharged, irate, combative, and aggressive patient assaulted a team member. The discharged patient continued attacking the team member, knocking him to the ground. The discharged patient continued his attack on the defenseless team member, who was now on the ground. Carolina Painter, who had witnessed the attack, quickly assisted, risking her own safety. She stepped into this vicious attack and came to the aid of the team members. She restrained the aggressive patient until assistance arrived, which brings great credit to herself and her department. A job above and beyond!

I was getting assaulted by a patient in the ED when Caroline Painter pulled the attacker off me. She held the attacker until security arrived on the scene to intervene. I sincerely appreciate Caroline Painter for going above and beyond and putting herself in jeopardy to save me. I am forever grateful. It would be nice to see Caroline Painter receive the DAISY Award for having extraordinary situational awareness and jumping into action to protect others above herself. Much love and respect.
