My mom was a patient for 10 days before her passing. Josh, Lucy, and the entire 5 East care team ensured that not only was she well taken care of, but they also demonstrated the compassion and empathy of people who genuinely cared about their patients.

My mom was admitted with many deteriorating conditions, which led to a decision to enter hospice care while she was there. From then on, Josh, Luci, and the 5 East team made sure that she was comfortable, talked her through whatever medical conditions were presenting, and involved my family and me in all decisions. The team also were genuinely concerned for our well-being during this difficult time.

During her last days, all the 5 East team managed her pain and continued to deal with an increasingly agitated patient with dignity and respect, and answered any questions we had regarding the dying process. I truly believe that not only did Josh, Luci, and the team allow my mom to die with dignity and without pain or suffering, but they also enabled my family and me to focus solely on our final moments with my mom without worrying about anything else.

They were exemplary in every way and should be recognized for their efforts and professionalism as nurses and people. My family and I cannot express enough how much appreciation and gratitude we have towards this team for shepherding us through this process.
