Our family has had the incredible privilege of being cared for by Kim Howard during some of the most important and vulnerable moments of our lives; the births of all three of our children, K, R, and T. Each time we returned to the hospital, we hoped we might see a familiar face, and having Kim by our side again was nothing short of a gift.

From our very first delivery, Kim stood out as someone who goes beyond clinical excellence. She brought calm to chaos, strength when we felt unsure, and compassion that we will never forget. She didn't just care for me as a patient; she cared for our whole family. She helped my husband feel confident and involved, and she made sure our older kids were acknowledged and included during our most recent stay as we transitioned to a family of five.

Throughout each labor, Kim was a steady and reassuring presence. She anticipated our needs before we could ask. Her gentle encouragement, clinical skill, and genuine kindness made all the difference. Whether it was helping me through the hard contractions, explaining each step of care with clarity and warmth, or simply holding my hand when I needed comfort, she was there.

On the mom-baby side, she continued to support us with patience, respect, and warmth. She celebrated with us in the joyful moments and held space for us during the emotional ones. It's rare to encounter someone with such deep empathy and dedication to their work. Having one nurse be a part of all three of our children's births is incredibly special, and we truly believe it was more than a coincidence; it was a blessing. Kim will forever be a part of our family's story, and we are endlessly grateful for the care she has given us over the years. She embodies everything the DAISY Award represents.
