He didn’t just take care of my dad; he also took care of us.
My 78-year-old dad came in from a 4-wheeler accident. Brett was his first nurse, and he was great. He was very considerate of how we were feeling, and at one point, before my dad woke up, my mom was really struggling. Brett went and found every doctor in charge of Dad’s care, and they all came in to talk to us. It was such a relief.
My dad also had to be moved for a scan, and there were so many people in the room, getting all of dad’s equipment ready to transfer. I watched Brett the entire time for his reaction to the process. I trusted his judgment and that he would intervene if necessary to keep my dad safe.
He was always calm and reassuring, but always very direct. He made sure my mom had coffee and that we understood what all the machines were doing. We got a lot of information from so many different doctors, and he always made sure to bring it all together for us. He didn’t just take care of my dad; he also took care of us.
