We would like to recognize Ennis for the care he provided to our grandmother in the ICU. Ennis went far beyond clinical excellence; his care was deeply human. If a child had watched him at work, they would have left wanting to become a nurse. That’s how inspiring he was.

He brought an incredible sense of comfort to our entire family. He stayed calm and present, making sure we all felt seen and supported during such a difficult time. He didn’t just care for our grandma, but he cared for all of us. He was open and honest, always communicating with empathy. He consistently checked in, explained what was happening to the best of his knowledge, and made sure we understood how we could be part of her care.

Even during the most critical moments, like when she was coding, he advocated for us to stay involved, which meant more to us than he probably realizes. He also demonstrated incredible leadership by delegating tasks effectively and maintaining a calm, organized environment even under intense pressure.

It’s rare to meet someone who can so seamlessly blend emotional and physical care while leading with such compassion. Watching him in action reminded us of how powerful and meaningful nursing can be. We will never forget the way he showed up for our family when we needed it most.
