I am pleased to nominate Connor Hogue for a DAISY Award. I believe there is no nurse more deserving of this recognition. Connor consistently surpasses expectations, demonstrating exceptional dedication and compassion not only toward Veterans but also toward his colleagues. His commitment, kindness, and readiness to assist should be recognized and appreciated. One particular day exemplifies Connor’s outstanding work ethic. The clinic was significantly short-staffed, with LPNs stretched thin. Despite not being assigned additional responsibilities that day, Connor proactively stepped in to support the team. He managed the entire lab in the morning, completed an intake for a Veteran, and ensured that Veterans received timely care while preventing his coworkers from becoming overwhelmed. This required setting aside his own workload and navigating a particularly busy and demanding day. Throughout, Connor maintained a positive attitude, never voicing complaint—he consistently goes above and beyond to support his colleagues and ensure our Veterans receive the highest quality of care. In addition to supporting his PACT team and Veterans, Connor frequently offers assistance to the other PACT team and their Veterans. PACT TEAM 2 Veterans have come to appreciate him as much as his own Veterans do. He is thorough in returning Veterans’ calls promptly and diligently works to meet their needs. He consistently offers assistance to all colleagues within the clinic, establishing himself as a reliable resource for completing various tasks. This level of dedication reflects Connor’s true character. He consistently steps up quietly and without solicitation, expecting nothing in return. His actions make a meaningful difference every day—for our Veterans and our team alike. Connor is truly one of the most exceptional nurses I have had the privilege of working with. We are fortunate to have him on our team.
