Nancy is the most compassionate nurse I've ever seen in action. She always goes above and beyond to make her patients feel well cared for and comfortable. The patient Nancy cared for on a particular day in June was no exception. This patient came in active labor, had received no prenatal care, was completely terrified, and not only had a history of substance abuse, but was currently using.

Nancy took care of this patient as if she were her own daughter. The kindness she displayed was truly inspirational. As nurses, we know that this is what every patient deserves, but oftentimes the care they receive is more medically focused. Nancy can do both beautifully. It is just impressive to watch. When Nancy retires, Kaiser is truly losing a gem of a nurse.
