I would like to let you know what an impact Nikolai left on our family. My father in law, L, was admitted to your hospital, and Niko was his nurse for the am shift and did an amazing job caring for my father-in-law. The reason I know this is that I myself am a nurse of 30+ years, along with my daughter R. We asked a lot of him during his shift, and I will tell you this - while Niko was challenged by my father in law’s new onset A-Fib and Respiratory Status/Issues, he was an advocate for his patient while at the same time handling 2 seasonal nurses coming to him with several questions and concerns. Niko used AIDET at all times, and I will never forget that at the end of his shift, I came to him and said Niko, my father in law can’t breathe (something a nurse hates to hear at the end of a shift). When he came in, my father-in-law said, “You're still here?” He looked at him (exhausted) and said, “I am not leaving until you are better.” What an asset you all have with him!!! Thank you, Niko!!!
