At age 30, I was diagnosed with testicular cancer at a small hospital in NJ and immediately went into the renowned Memorial Sloane Kettering Cancer Center in NYC. I was treated there for 1.5 years, chemo, surgeries, procedures, suffice to say, I interacted with many nurses and doctors. I am now 65 years old and battling bladder cancer for the last 1.5 years- again, a chance to interact with a lot of nurses and doctors “in action”.

I have observed and benefited mostly from excellent nursing and know and have great respect and admiration for the work our nurses do. In many respects, nurses, in my opinion, are the angels of the healthcare profession. The impact they have on the outcomes and the mental well-being of the patients is immeasurable. Tamia is one of the most exceptional nurses I have encountered over the years. She is young but knowledgeable and with people skills well beyond her years. She has demonstrated kindness, compassion, willingness to listen to her patients, calmness in the storm, a tremendous work ethic, and a sincere desire to help her patients get better and get discharged. She is a phenomenal nurse and a tremendous asset to the Cleveland Clinic and one of the best nurses I have had.
