We have all seen that she goes above and beyond for every patient and for every person in her path.
Rosemarie Cachero, LPN, exemplifies every quality of an exceptional nurse. Her tireless work, selfless spirit, and unwavering commitment to making a difference every single day are deeply appreciated by our entire team.
Her dedication goes far beyond her job description. We have all seen that she goes above and beyond for every patient and for every person in her path. She has been a nurse in our Dermatology Clinic for twelve years. For twelve years, she has been more than a nurse – she is the heart of our clinic. Twelve years of coming in early and staying late, all to make sure our patients and our team are taken care of. Twelve years of invaluable support to me as my dedicated nurse.
I chose two patient care examples that reflect her approach to nursing because they are the most recent, but I could choose from dozens of glowing examples:
Example 1:
Last week, Rosemarie was on leave. She was not in the clinic when our patient’s biopsy was posted. When she learned that the diagnosis was a malignant melanoma, she came off her leave to assist me in his surgery. She wanted to be there for our patient because this serious diagnosis was unexpected, and she knew he would be anxious. Her insight was spot on, and our patient was grateful for her genuine care and compassion. I was grateful for her support for a challenging surgery.
Example 2:
Last month, a patient came to the front desk with a grocery bag of medications and was overwhelmed. She took him back to my treatment room and spread out his medications on the table. She patiently clarified his regimen and had him take photos.
Rosemarie is the one who keeps everything running smoothly, from making sure every single patient feels heard to magically knowing exactly what supplies we need before we even know we need them. She has a superpower for keeping our medical supply closet perfectly stocked—she’s a “stocking fiend” in the best possible way. She is the person who somehow knows where everything is!
Her professional skills impact our entire team. Rosemarie is the person the other nurses turn to for support involving delicate procedures or other clinic challenges. For example, she will step in and cover for injections on the eyelid, around the eye, or on the genitals. When it comes to delivering injections to infants, it is Rosemarie who volunteers. When we are short of nursing staff, she will provide support for two providers at the same time without complaint, without a hitch, and while maintaining her sense of humor.
When chemotherapy is needed for a skin cancer treatment, it is Rosemarie who arranges the inpatient pharmacy order and picks it up on the designated day. Anytime a keloid surgery needs to be coordinated with Radiology, it is Rosemarie who communicates with both clinics and sets it up. The same goes for the Peds sedation clinic procedures.
It is Rosemarie who supervises ordering clinic medications, restocking the clinic med room, and managing medical supplies. She takes responsibility for the crash cart daily and maintains the laser equipment and microscope.
Rosemarie is an expert in a multitude of procedures; she assists in micro laser peels, Pro-Fractional laser resurfacing, and a wide variety of surgeries, including skin cancer surgeries. She performs Photo Dynamic Therapy, Laser Hair Removal, axilla Botox injections, wart treatments, skin tag removal—the list goes on.
Birthdays? Holidays? Yes, it is Rosemarie who organizes, decorates, and ensures that each special occasion and every person feels celebrated. She has a treasure trove of party decorations like no other—no kidding!
Rosemarie continues to be a bright light for our patients and her work family. She is irreplaceable! She exemplifies all the values of the DAISY Award!
