Dawn has made a difference with a shared Veteran who is seen at Vincennes CBOC. Dawn saw this Veteran when working at Vincennes and continues to see them since being at the Evansville clinic. Veteran is strong-willed and does not like change and "being told what to do." Dawn has shown empathy and understanding to this Veteran, which has helped him not give up on his mental health care at VA.

Veteran speaks highly of how much he appreciates that Dawn will take the time to not only listen but to seek out other staff when this Veteran has issues or concerns that need intervention from other services. Dawn has reached out to the Veteran's care coordinator in home telehealth to assist with directing the Veteran to address needs from HT. Dawn has a direct approach to care for this Veteran when others would have stated "that is not my job". Dawn goes above and beyond not only for this Veteran but others that I have discussed with her. Dawn cares for Veterans like she would her own family and makes every veteran feel that in her daily duties. That is why she is an extraordinary nurse, and I am proud to work with her at the VA!
