Sara had a big, warm smile as she entered my room and saw me shaking; she immediately gave me a warm blanket to help me feel comfortable. She had a beautiful balance of support, caring, small talk, and guidance on what to expect that day. She put me at ease. Her warmth and kindness are what I remember a month later. I felt like an important patient. What stands out most to me and still gets me teary-eyed is her offering my dad juice after we had been waiting hours. He had bought a book in the gift shop and was reading it in the waiting room. I had shared that my dad had cancer, and she not only took care of me but was concerned for him as well. I will treasure this moment of kindness for a long time. Everyone was kind and thoughtful, but Sara was exceptional.
