Brian is very quiet and unassuming in the excellent care that he provides to patients in their homes. Often, he flies under the radar as he does not publicly share the times that he goes above and beyond.

Brian has recently had a couple of times where he has assisted patients so that they could safely remain in their homes. One time earlier in the year, he went to a patient's home and found that the temperature inside the home was in the 50–60-degree range, on one of the coldest days of the year, and the patient was sitting under a pile of blankets to keep warm. He found that the patient's furnace was not working correctly, and the patient stated that they did not have the money to call a furnace repair company. Brian looked at the furnace and found the problem, which only required a simple fix that he was able to do with the tools that the patient had on hand. By the time Brian had left the home, the temperature was in the upper 60s and climbing. When the next clinician went into the home later in the day, the temperature was up in the 70s.

Recently, Brian saw an elderly patient who had a screen door that was hanging from one hinge. The patient stated that she did not have anyone coming who could help fix it, and a storm was on its way. Brian was quickly able to fix the storm door with tools that the patient had on hand.

Brian demonstrates daily that whole patient care is not just caring for medical issues, but making sure that patients can safely stay in their home environment.
