My dad was admitted to Hillcrest South, had 2 emergency abdominal surgeries, heart failure, kidney failure, and a plethora of other issues that all seemed dire. By Monday, we were facing his mortality. Hope was our nurse, and she was incredible. She not only gave my father her best care, but she also cared her hardest for us, the family, and not all members of this family are rational. Hope would explain the same thing 3 different ways to assist with understanding. She was a shoulder to cry on when I thought I was losing my dad; she never wavered in her efforts to give my dad the best care. By the 3rd day in her care as a nurse, my father was completely off life support and talking to us, looking at us, he was with us. The team of doctors was pivotal, no doubt, but Hope was the face of it all, and my heart goes out to her for having that stress and remaining brave and calm the entire time. My dad and I believe in the team that seemed to bring him back from death's door, but my hats off to Hope as the most present and seemingly integral part of all of that, because of her support. She sincerely helped me get through the hardest thing I’ve ever experienced.
