Jesus is the true example of nursing with your heart! Jesus cared for my grandmother in the Emergency Department, a unit he typically does not work in. He was sent from the ICU to care for her. He treated my grandmother like his very own family member. He quickly gained our trust by showing her respect, taking the time to explain things in a way she could understand, and even making some jokes with her to bring a smile to her face.

On top of the exceptional care he provided, he kept me updated on every aspect of my grandmother’s care, from test results, bed status, and medications to updates from the doctor. This is a nurse who truly makes an impact on not only families but the patients he cares for. He embodies every aspect of what it means to be a nurse: compassion, advocacy, and respect. He is a true blessing to this organization!

I am so grateful we are to have had someone like Jesus care for my grandmother. Ascension needs 100 more nurses just like him. Thank you for everything.
