After three very difficult days in the ER, we were exhausted and overwhelmed by the time we were transferred upstairs. Honestly, I was bracing myself for our struggles to continue, but our first morning on the 4th floor, we were met by Ashley.

From the moment she walked in the door, it felt as though a weight had been lifted. Her compassion, professionalism, and genuine concern for both my husband and me changed everything about our experience. She went above and beyond to advocate for my husband, ensuring that his medicine was adjusted so he finally found some relief from the severe pain he had been in for three days.

What impressed me just as much was the way she extended care to me as his wife and caregiver. She was the first nurse to bring me a drink and the first to ask if I had eaten. She recognized that I needed support, too. Her kindness reminded me that I was not invisible in this process. Although Ashley has not been assigned to us since then, she has continued to stop by daily when she is working to check on us. That simple act of consistency and compassion has left a lasting impression.

I may not know Ashley personally, but I do know that she embodies the qualities that every patient and family member hopes to find in a nurse. Her empathy, dedication, and genuine heart make her stand out as one of the best at Tanner. I do not doubt that she is only at the beginning of an incredible career; she will go very far.

Ashley will always hold a special place in our hearts for the care and compassion she showed during one of the most difficult times of our lives.
