She was so excited to meet my little one, and on her last day as my nurse, she left a balloon in my room to brighten my day.
I would like to nominate Brittany for the DAISY Award because of the incredible compassion and dedication she showed me during one of the hardest times of my life. She cared for me during my first two days after a C-section. I was in a lot of pain, and she immediately advocated for me by contacting different doctors and even the anesthesiologist so that I could get the right medications quickly. Thanks to her persistence and quick action, my pain was managed, and I felt truly cared for. At the same time, my newborn baby was in the PICU for a heart condition. My nurse never once made me feel guilty for wanting to spend as much time as possible with my baby. Instead, she supported me; she even brought my medications directly to me in the PICU so I wouldn't have to leave my baby to come back to my room. That simple act of kindness meant the world to me. She didn't just provide medical care; she celebrated with me, too. She was so excited to meet my little one, and on her last day as my nurse, she left a balloon in my room to brighten my day. Even after she was no longer assigned to me, she came by just to check in and see how I was doing. Her compassion, thoughtfulness, and willingness to go above and beyond made a very difficult time so much easier. I will never forget how supported and cared for I felt because of her. S
