Missi is a one-of-a-kind nurse. She goes above and beyond for not only her Veterans but also for her fellow doctors and employees.

Patient safety is her top priority. She is always the first to volunteer to help other departments when needed and stays passed her tour of duty. Missi is also great about educating herself, and she does this so that she can provide the best care for each patient. With her experience in many different areas of healthcare, she is a great asset to the Robert J. Dole VA Medical Center.

Some examples of her amazing compassion include helping a Veteran who was unable to contact Podiatry for his nail care. She personally reached out to the department and even transported the Veteran to his appointment to ensure he received the care he needed.

Another example of her kindness was when a Veteran needed a razor but was unable to purchase one himself. She purchased one on her own and delivered it to the patient while he was in the hospital.

In addition to her direct patient care, she organized the Cath Lab’s donation to the Christmas Giving Tree, raised money, and planted flowers in front of the Robert J. Dole VA, which she continues to care for.

She is also deeply involved in the community, volunteering with homeless Veterans and helping to find them housing.

These examples only touch on a few of the many great things she does daily. Missi is extraordinarily talented, compassionate, and shows unwavering dedication to Veterans every day.
