She alone has prevented numerous patient readmissions through improved patient points of contact, frequent communications with providers, and she is clearly working to the very top of her licensure to assist patients in navigating new stoma management.
Alexis Jankowiak, RN, has provided exceptional effort in developing and participating in the hospital's new inpatient and ambulatory ileostomy protocol. Her high level of organization, diligence, personalization, patience, and expertise has directly and positively impacted dozens of patients since this protocol went live in January of 2025.
She alone has prevented numerous patient readmissions through improved patient points of contact, frequent communications with providers, and she is clearly working to the very top of her licensure to assist patients in navigating new stoma management. Beyond this, she performs directed, but independent, post-surgical wound care evaluations, which have positively impacted our patients' throughput and physician/APP time to be seen. She works almost as if she were a nurse navigator for our inpatient service, ensuring timely and appropriate follow-up after acute care general surgery hospital stays.
Her medical acumen is astute, and she keenly senses impending problems at a point where our office has the opportunity to intervene before harm reaches our patients. She participates in educational opportunities with our office staff, she stands up for patient safety, and she exemplifies exactly what it is to be a model Bronson nurse. I cannot say enough excellent things about Alexis.
