My husband and I lost our 16-week-old boy named M. The news came as a total shock, and we were heartbroken. My husband and I will always remember how our nurses were exactly what we needed, individually, at the exact right stages of my labor and delivery. Megan cared for me in the admission and labor portion.

Less than a year before, I had quit my job as a nurse in Women’s Health on 7 Center after working there almost 10 years, so I knew much of what was happening, but was still unfamiliar with so much of it. I had a multitude of questions, which Megan answered with so much grace and patience. I never once felt like I was a burden. Instead, she felt like a friend to me. She was exactly what I needed through her perfect balance of humor and comfort, and she repeatedly included my husband in the process as well, which I so appreciated.

She encouraged me strongly to get an epidural whenever I started feeling pain, as it would help the process along. The timing of my deciding to get it was so close to shift change, which I apologized about, but she said, “What?! Don’t worry about that!” I so appreciated her advice on getting it because it came exactly when I needed it, as I delivered him within two hours of it being placed. Megan, you are so warm, caring, and hilarious. Thank you for being exactly what I needed.
