With over five years of experience in healthcare and nearly two years at ERMC, Alexis was nominated for this prestigious award by a patient she cared for during a recent hospital stay. The patient had been admitted for a routine appendectomy that unexpectedly extended to four days due to complications.

In the nomination, the patient wrote, “The care I received from the entire team was extraordinary, but Alexis went above and beyond to deal with the setbacks as they occurred.”

One specific example shared was Alexis’s effort to coordinate the patient’s discharge medications with the pharmacy, something that fell outside her direct responsibilities. The nomination continued: “Alexis put in long hours while I was there, but never lost her professional, caring demeanor. I was really scared when complications kept occurring, but she handled them calmly and helped put me at ease. That meant even more to me than her amazing nursing skills.”

When asked about her work, Alexis shared that her favorite part of the job is collaborating with her “amazing coworkers” and being part of a team that delivers high-quality, compassionate care. “I’ve always enjoyed helping people and hope to continue brightening lives through the work I do,” she said.
