Hayley went above and beyond to care for a critically ill patient. This patient was a Level 1 Trauma patient who required a three-hour, lifesaving surgery with the use of our rapid blood transfuser to stabilize them enough for transport to a higher-level facility.

After working her second consecutive third shift filled with high-volume and high-acuity patients, Hayley was exhausted mentally, physically, and emotionally. Yet, at 7:00 a.m., when she should have been heading home to rest, she selflessly agreed to accompany the patient in the ambulance to ensure a safe transport at the physician’s request.

Hayley did not return to the ER until almost 11:00 a.m. that morning, exhausted and starving. Despite her fatigue, she continued to go above and beyond for her patient, assisting the EMS crew with monitoring and treatment throughout the transport.

Hayley demonstrated excellent nursing ability, empathy, compassion, and unwavering dedication to providing exceptional patient care.
