I've been a patient here since July 22 after undergoing the sleeve. Unfortunately, my journey hasn't been simple. I experienced compilations that left me vulnerable, exhausted and in desperate need of not just medical care, but human care. That's exactly what Christina gave me. From the moment she walked into my room on her morning shift, Christina brought with her a sense of calm, compassion, and strength that I can only describe as extraordinary. She didn't just care for me,- she cared about me. In a place where everything can feel overwhelming, she made me feel safe, seen and supported. It wasn't just her clinical skill that stood out- though she was very knowledgeable and efficient- it was her heart. She also has been training another nurse and even in that her leadership shines. Christina has modeled what it means to be a true nurse: someone who listens, comforts, teaches and gives tirelessly of herself. Watching her guide trainees with care was inspiring. Other patients and staff speaking of her name with respect and appreciation were a clear sign that what I felt was not unique but something she gives to everyone. There is something deeply special about Christina. It takes a rare kind of person to bring light into a place filled with pain, but she does it. She is exactly what the DAISY Award represents. Christina helped carry me through one of the most difficult and emotional experiences of my life. I am forever grateful. I hope you see what I saw- a nurse whose impact reaches beyond the IV's and vitals, and whose kindness truly changes lives.
