Roumella Valena was one of the wonderful nurses who cared for m y husband during his final days in the ICU. She went out of her way to provide compassionate care to both my husband and me at the same time. I felt such peace knowing she was at his bedside.

Some examples of her compassionate care include her ability to truly understand him and know how to encourage his cooperation with patience and respect. He was blind and often anxious, but she immediately recognized his needs and found ways to comfort and reassure him.

She also stayed in the room when the chaplain came to pray with us, offering quiet support and taking the time to answer questions or find out information when needed. Her presence brought me comfort in the most difficult days of my life, and I will never forget her kindness and compassion.
