Throughout our time there, she consistently went above and beyond, bringing books for us to read to him, offering ways to bond despite not being able to hold him, keeping us informed every step of the way, and ensuring we understood everything.
In mid-July, I experienced the worst time of my life. While I was in the ICU fighting for my life, my little one was sent to the NICU. It would be a couple of days before I could meet him and hold him for the first time. It was then that I got to meet Nurse Kim. She was the absolute sweetest, and it was just like she understood how awful everything had been. Not only did she take great care of our baby "E", but she also made sure I was taken care of as well, offering any kind of help I needed. I wasn't able to hold my baby due to testing being performed on his brain, and I was a complete wreck. Not being able to meet him for days and then not being able to hold him was so heartbreaking. Nurse Kim saw me crying and trying to hold it together, and did the most comforting thing she could. She made sure the cameras in the room were always on. It was something so simple and small that it made a huge difference. I could not hold him, but I got to see him as much as I wanted to.
Throughout our time there, she consistently went above and beyond, bringing books for us to read to him, offering ways to bond despite not being able to hold him, keeping us informed every step of the way, and ensuring we understood everything. We never had to rely on just reading the whiteboard when she was there. She always came into the room and walked us through everything we had missed. I will always be so grateful for her. I am so glad someone so kind was there who cared not only about the babies, but the parents as well. Recovery was incredibly hard for me, so it was great knowing he had me to count on when I could not be there. She made an already traumatic experience not so bad. Thank God for Nurse Kim, whose dedication to her job, love for the babies, and empathy and understanding for the parents are truly commendable.
