Cortney displayed amazing compassion and patience with a very challenging patient situation. Cortney went above and beyond in communication by keeping the patient informed of her care in common terms, kindly explaining to the patient the reasoning for any staff/provider visits to the room, and then coordinating with the many services involved in the care to ensure everyone was on the same page when engaging with the patient. Cortney showed immense grace under pressure when balancing the numerous, time-consuming requests/demands of one patient in a respectful manner, while caring for all her other patients. In summary, Cortney established a strong connection with the patient, fostering trust that enabled the patient to accept visits from other care team members and receive the necessary care.
