Briana was floated to the ED to assist the staff due to being short-staffed in a very busy shift. Throughout the shift, she consistently went above and beyond the call of duty for both her fellow nurses and the patients. She used her extensive pediatric experience to help me with a particular 15-month-old baby who was difficult to get an IV on, as well as taking the initiative to retrieve urine from that baby. She never denied helping anyone. She agreed to help with a smile, showing everyone in the department what it means to be a teammate. She is a shining example of what a DAISY Award-winning nurse should be.
