The Conemaugh School of Surgical Technology was having its graduation ceremony for the class of 2025 in the education building. Unfortunately, the mother of one of the graduates was admitted into the hospital the same day. She was very determined to make the graduation ceremony, from what I was told. Scott helped her into a wheelchair and wheeled her all the way over to the education building to watch her daughter graduate. During the ceremony, the graduates decided to have their mothers each pin them with their graduation pins, so I know it meant a great deal not only to the mother, but to the graduate. Both were tearing up, grateful that she was able to be part of the celebration, and it was definitely a big thanks to Scott. I'm unsure if there was other help behind the scenes, as I only saw the end result, but either way, he was a tremendous example of what going above and beyond for our patients means. Not only did he help support his patient at a time she needed it most, but ensured her safety throughout the day. Kudos to Scott and the others who may have contributed to this wonderful experience for that family.
