His advanced skills used to stop the bleeding in his right arm were very timely, enabling him to transfer to the cardiac floor and out of critical care for continued observation and care services.
Tyler Brasket, RN, provided excellent care to G.W. Tyler stood out for being so proactive in wound care, stopping the bleeding stemming from an attempt to insert a right radial artery cannulated catheter in hopes of inserting a stent into his heart. Stopping the bleeding took some effort until Tyler employed a special technique that seemed to finally halt the bleeding. Tyler did an excellent job providing the qualities of the 5C's of Critical Care perfectly. He focused on G.W.'s needs, preferences, and values. He based decisions on a thorough understanding of Gary's condition and available resources. His advanced skills used to stop the bleeding in his right arm were very timely, enabling him to transfer to the cardiac floor and out of critical care for continued observation and care services.

Tyler was an excellent listener; he was empathetic and compassionate in challenging circumstances. He took the time to educate us along the way and was all ears. He worked well with all team members. Tyler deserves recognition for going above and beyond our anticipated care needs for G.W. He meets the criteria noted on the DAISY Award form, fulfilling all six bullets. Tyler was found to be an outstanding role model for the nursing care he provided to my father.
