Too often, we hear about challenges rather than successes, and I want to take a moment to highlight the extraordinary teamwork and compassion displayed during today's Level II Trauma Activation. A five-year-old patient and their worried parent, following an MVC, were met with an exceptional level of care that truly exemplifies pediatric readiness for ACS. The patient was a special needs child.

Dr. Harken and Lindsay Moffat provided thoughtful and calming support to both the child and their parent, ensuring a sense of ease during the FAST exam. Their ability to balance technical precision with compassionate care was remarkable. Dr. Harken and Lindsay helped ease the patients' fears.
Amanda Magana played a vital role in coordinating patient care and assessments, remaining calm, patient, and attentive throughout the process. Her dedication to facilitating seamless communication was instrumental in ensuring the highest level of care.

Stephanie McCormack quickly went to get a Teddy bear, something familiar to the patient to help keep him calm and softly sang along to help the patient cope as well.

This was a true example of going above and beyond, where small moments made a profound impact. Witnessing this level of commitment to patient-centered care was inspiring, and I want to express my deep gratitude for the team’s efforts in making a stressful situation more tolerable for the patient and their family.

Thank you to everyone for your dedication—you are making a meaningful difference.
