Ashley was there for every part of my delivery and after. She took the extra time to answer my questions and explain what the next step of a very unknown process was. She and my husband were the two support systems I had while I was actively pushing my child. She listened to my husband’s concerns and questions and also took her time answering, even though he was not the patient. Without her adapting to what I needed, I wasn’t sure I would have been able to carry through. On top of everything, she brought her care to a personal level and gave me recommendations of positions based on what she liked with her children. If I didn’t like it or it didn’t work, she suggested we move to the next. She also found ways to connect with me and my husband outside of her job. Finding common interests and activities helped break up the situation and remember there was life outside of room 411. S was lucky to have her that day, as I believe she is a floater nurse. I hope for any future deliveries; she is one of our nurses.
