I was hospitalized with newly diagnosed heart issues. I was already taken aback by this new diagnosis, but to hear that I needed to be hospitalized and have different procedures done was a very scary and foreign experience for me. I couldn't breathe, my heart rate and blood pressure were at dangerous levels, and it took a while for the doctors to stabilize me. From the time I was transferred from the ER to the 3 Dr floor, Miss Abbey never skipped a beat when it came to my care. She treated me and my family with dignity and respect! She made herself available even when I didn't need anything. She thoroughly explained every medicine, every procedure that was being done, and answered all questions that I had regarding my condition and treatment plans. If there was something she wasn't sure of, she directed me to the person who could give me answers to my questions. All of the nurses on staff on the third floor were great, but Abbey stood out to me above all! Abbey exemplified what's really needed in healthcare workers! Care, Compassion, Empathy, and Kindness! Her bedside manners were impeccable, always greeted us with a smile!
