She is always willing to come early, stay late, and fill in at the last minute to help care for our boy.
It is with heartfelt appreciation that I nominate Hailey for the DAISY Award. She has been a reliable God-send in our home, taking care of our special-needs child for almost 4 years now. Our son, D, is developmentally delayed, has frequent illnesses, a G-tube, and struggles with some behavioral challenges. He has had 6 surgeries and countless other procedures, illnesses, and health issues. Throughout this challenging journey, Hailey enters our home each day with patience, love, and a steadfast commitment to his health and overall well-being.

From the first week she started caring for D, she connected with him in the most special way. She treats him with kindness and understanding, always taking into account his unique needs. She celebrates his triumphs, no matter how big or small, and comforts/supports him through all of his difficulties. D loves her beyond words, and their bond is unlike any other. Even after almost 4 years, he still gets excited to see her every day and asks about her on the weekends when she isn't here. There have been many days when D was sick, and Hailey always handles the situation with a calm, helpful demeanor, even helping to calm us when we were worried about his health.

Whether it's managing high fevers, vomiting, G-tube feedings, or administering medication, she always goes above and beyond to ensure his health, safety, and happiness. She attends his many appointments with him, including his weekly therapies, and always keeps us informed about things we might miss regarding his milestones and struggles during therapy. She advocates for him, protects him, loves him, and cares for him as if he were her own child. D started a special education preschool program, which affected Hailey's hours, but she continued to remain flexible and adjust accordingly. When he is sick and can't attend school, she jumps in to take care of him, even though she wasn't scheduled. She is always willing to come early, stay late, and fill in at the last minute to help care for our boy. I can't even imagine how we would've gotten through these last few years without her.

Of all her outstanding qualities, our favorite is the love she has for D. It's evident in the way she talks to him and plays with him, in how she soothes him when he's sick or upset, and in how she takes pride in him when he makes progress. She has been known to hold him for hours when he isn't well and just needs to be snuggled and loved. My husband and I know no greater sense of comfort or peace of mind than when he is in her care. Hailey has made such a difference in our lives, and we are beyond grateful. I can think of no one more deserving of the DAISY Award.
